CommentCaroline Plummer born Little Lever, Bolton, Lancs. Swam for Radcliffe S.C. British Police, and the BLDSA national team. Swam the Channel, Breastroke on 27th September 1986, Leaving Shakespeare Beach Dover at 6.50 hr BST and landed at the beach in front of the village of Escalles, west of Cap Blanc, Pas de Calais, at 23.22 hrs BST. The pilot was Bob Reid, the skipper of FE22. The observer from the Association was I H Glendinning, who made application to the CSA for the swim to be recognised as 1.
