Super excited to share this with everyone. My very special award from the CS&PF. I am totally overwhelmed but it all, especially as last years winner of this award was the amazing 4-way EC swimmer Sarah! This just proves dreams can come true with a little hard-work, sleeping in a car and being the first across of the covid season. Special thanks have to go to @edwardpoll @kingsswimmers @channel_swimming_pilotage @lesbobly @hartwellleisure @bdswim and all my family and friends. It was such a challenging, but amazing year. Gutted we couldn’t have a big party to celebrate altogether! Thank you everyone for being part of it.

Many thanks for your kind letter which accompanied the rather magnificent platter! I was expecting a certificate, so I was bowled over by the award. I had to do a bit of digging to find out about Ray Scott. He was obviously a stalwart of the Channel swimming community for many, many years. And he must have had amazing sea legs to act as official observer on so many swims! I’m very proud to hold the award that bears his name.
The arrival of the CS&PF package awakened many fond memories of 14th August, 2020. A day which started, by the way, by bumping into you on the Dover Marina car park at 4a.m! Many people contributed to my special day, including those at the CS&PF. Many thanks for your practical help and encouragement.
After several days of a dark pall hanging over The Potteries, the skies cleared today, and my wife took the opportunity to snap me with my platter. One proud old man!
